IMS and Mind & Life Institute Scientist Retreat: Studied with Sharon Salzberg, Joseph Goldstein, Guy Armstrong, Richard Davidson, and Kristen Neff (Mindful Self-Compassion): an-depth training in meditation to explore ways in which introspection can inform clinical applications. Two meditation techniques were taught -- Mindfulness and Lovingkindness. Mindfulness is simply a means of training the mind to be more keenly aware of sensory phenomena and the flow of thought. Lovingkindness helps us cultivate an open and loving heart. The 8 day training took place in Barre, MA.
Safe and Sound Listening Protocol (SSP): Professional training for the auditory delivery of the SSP program based on Polyvagal Theory. The Intervention improves Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) functioning by promoting the Social Engagement System (SES). The SSP Training took place in Denver, CO.
